To facilitate seamless access, users can utilize the mobile check-in feature, allowing for quick and discreet verification upon arrival without the need for verbal communication.

The platform also offers curated travel tools, practical tips, and strategies aimed at enhancing travel experiences and reducing stress for families. These resources are developed by a dedicated team to improve trip planning and execution.

The Autism Travel Club's digital ecosystem connects users to a network of businesses and destinations that have received appropriate training and education to ensure welcoming, supportive environments for families with autism. The app provides personalized concierge services to assist families in finding suitable venues that respect their unique needs.

For a modest yearly fee of $10, families can access the Autism Traveler app, which simplifies the process of identifying participating autism-friendly service providers and destinations with just a few taps. Upon arriving at these locations, families can check in through the app and display a digital confirmation, signifying their need for an autism-sensitive environment in a respectful manner.

This program was initially launched by the nonprofit organization Champion Autism Network (CAN) based in Surfside Beach, with the aim of equalizing access to enriching play and travel experiences for families affected by autism. CAN continues to support and promote this initiative as a designated ATC premiere affiliate partner.

Recognizing that everyday outings—such as visits to attractions or restaurants—are vital for quality of life, the platform aims to mitigate common sensory challenges related to lights, sounds, crowds, and unfamiliar surroundings that can induce overstimulation or anxiety in individuals with autism. By fostering more inclusive environments, the Autism Travel Club endeavors to expand opportunities for meaningful engagement.
